I have written this
booklet to help teach you how to know and avoid what is evil.
Only when a person participates in sin or evil things, they allow
Satan to take part in their life and God's blessings to be removed. |
You see, God protects us when we love and obey Him, but if
we allow
sin
or something evil into our life, we allow the devil to come and take part
in our life.God's protection and will for our lives will be hindered,
and the devil will take advantage of us. The Bible warns us in
Ephesians 4:27 about this, it says; Neither give place to the devil. Don't allow anything
that is not of God into your life. |
|
Be
sober,be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring
lion, walking about, seeking whom he may devour: (1 Peter 5:8).
Let's take
a closer look at this verse. To be sober and vigilant means to
be watchful. The devil is our adversary or our enemy. We must understand
that the devil is out to hurt us. |
But the good news is, if you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and
if you are resisting
the devil,
you have nothing
to fear.
|
To
allow evil things into our life is sometimes called a doorway.
Just say it is freezing cold and windy outside and you open the
door of your house and go out without shutting the door for a
long period of time. When you come back inside your house, it
will be much colder than when you first left, because you have
left cold air come in. Satan is the same way, if you allow him
into your life by disobeying God, you will allow Satan to come
and take part in your life. It doesn't mean that God stopped
loving you, but He can no longer keep you under His complete
care because you have been disobedient against His word. |
The Bible teaches us that in the last days
many people will turn away from believing and trusting in God
and will put their trust in something taught by a devil or a demon.
The Bible clearly tells us that demons will tell lies and will
deceive many people. Deceive means that someone belives something
that is not true. "Now the Spirit speaketh
expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the
faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils"
(1 Timothy
4:1).
Let's
take a closer look at what this verse is really saying: |
"Now the Spirit speaketh
expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the
faith,"
God's spirit is warning
us about something that is going to happen in the last days.
Some will leave their faith in Jesus Christ. We see this all
around us as people ignore and deny God. We can be certain that
we are living in what the Bible calls the last days, by many
things that are being fulfilled from scripture. Many things that
were written in the Bible many years ago are now happening! |
"giving heed" |
- means "to give attention to"
people will pay attention to things that are not true. |
to
seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;" |
-
"seducing" means to be a misleader, or to trick. |
Overall,
people that have departed from the Christian faith will listen
and believe what these doctrines of devils are saying, instead
of trusting the Bible! Satan's
numder one goal is to turn people away from trusting in the Bible.
We must be
very careful not to trust in our own feelings or understandings
when they do not agree with God's word. This sadly happens to
many adults and children. |
We need
to know what God's word says. A very important point to remember
is that
Satan
will become or do anything to lead a person away from God. Satan is very tricky.
He may be the cause of something that looks OK or appears to be
nice. But always remember, if anything teaches the opposite or different than what the word of God says, do not put your trust
in it, because it will be a lie and this is how people are deceived.
By being
different than what God's word says about it, we will know that
it is not from God. Remember,
God will
never
change His word.
|
Always pray and
ask God for wisdom, and guidance, and He will help you. |
