THE LIFE OF JESUS CHRIST

Jesus speaking: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord" (Luke 4:18-19).

Look at all the wonderful things that Jesus came as a man to do:

1). To preach the gospel to the poor. Every person on earth needs to hear the gospel so they can be saved and go to heaven.

2). To heal the broken hearted. Jesus loves you and wants you to be happy. He is the only one who can heal your hurts. He brings true joy and peace.

3). To preach deliverance to the captives. To deliver those that are lost out of Satan's kingdom.

4). To give recovering of sight to the blind. 2000 years ago Jesus healed those who were blind. and He also healed many other diseases. He has not changed, He still heals today.
The Bible also teaches that people are spiritually blinded. This means those who do not know Jesus Christ as their personal savior (they have a covering over their mind or eyes). This means that they cannot understand the truth of the gospel, because Satan is blinding their minds spiritually and causing them to disbelieve. These people do not understand the way to get to heaven. This does not mean a person cannot see, but it does mean that a person can not understand the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Is there anything you do not understand about the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ? This is talking about spiritual blindness. If there are things you do not understand, ask God to remove this spiritual blindness and help you to understand.
5). To set at liberty them that are bruised.- To give freedom and forgiveness to those who are sad or hurt.
6). To preach the acceptable year of the Lord - When Jesus walked the earth as a man 2000 years ago, He preached that He was the only way to heaven. People either accepted Him or rejected Him.
The choice to either receive Jesus Christ or reject Him. The Bible tells us not to wait. "behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:2b).
