WHAT IS MAGIC?

What is magic anyway? As you read through the definitions of the nine forbidden practices you see that most of them have a connection with magic. Magic is to control an unseen force to change things. It could be used for doing good or bad things. This unseen force that people manipulate or control is in reality a demonic force.

Two general terms are white magic and black magic. Some people may say they use white magic to do good things, but this does not make it right in God's eyes. White magic is often used in the Wicca religion. When God says to stay away from something He means it, whether it looks good or not. We should never judge anything by appearance, or we could easily be deceived or tricked. You may want to read over the definitions of the nine forbidden practices again, and you will see that most of them have to do with magic. Those who practiced magic in the Bible were people that did not believe in God and used it to turn others away from trusting in God (see Exodus 7:8-12). These people were serving Satan.
