PLAYING WITH FIRE

am sI

I am sure you were told many times throughout your life not to play with matches.

Your parents have told you this for a very good reason. They did not want you to get burned. We all know that matches start fires and if we are not careful with them they could destroy houses, pets, and human lives. This is disasterous. What might have started as fun with a spark of a match could end another person's life.

It is the same way with these forbidden occult practices that God's word has warned us not to get involved with. Getting involved with these things are a sin and they are wickedness in the highest degree in the eyes of a holy God!

Satan uses them to destroy lives and to turn people from God leading them to hell.

Let's narrow these forbidden practices down to three different types of the occult:

1). Divination - attempts to tell what lies ahead in the future (divination, astrology)

2). Magic - attempts to change situations in the present or the future (enchanter, charmer, witchcraft, wizard).

3). Spiritism - tries to communicate with those who have died to receive information or help from them (consulter of familiar spirits, necromancer).

REMEMBER: All these things can be sought by the living God.

Put your trust in God to direct your future. Strive to live each day for Him taking one day at a time. The Bible tells us not to worry about tomorrow but look to the creator to provide for it. "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Phil 4:19)."Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God: Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:"(Psalm 146:5-6).

Prayer to God changes things in a person's life. Seek the living and true God. "And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full" (John 16:23-24).

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1).Safety from temptation

Following quot must be changed (I got it off the internet)http://www.bibleexplained.com/epistles-p/Ephe/p&hp.htm

We can understand by looking at the temptation of our first parents. The serpent through which Satan spoke promised Eve knowledge and power like God has.
"He said to the woman, 'Did God really say, "You must not eat from any tree in the garden"?' The woman said to the serpent, 'We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,' but God did say, "You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden . . . or you will die." 'You will not surely die,' the serpent said to the woman.'" (Gen. 3:1-4)
God had provided safety from evil influence. Remember that Satan didn't talk to Eve until she went to the forbidden tree. In the same way, playing with the occult brings us onto Satan's ground. Then he captures our interest until we become like him and no longer have a love for the good things of God. What seems cute and interesting becomes a death trap. We need to make wise decisions involving natural channels of influence: school, television, and friends.
