NO FEAR

Did you ever wake up from a nightmare or did you ever hear bumps or scary noises in the night? You do not need to fear the devil or those scary noises.

The Bible tells us; "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7).

God does not want you to live your life in fear. He loves you so very much! Satan hates God's word, so when you read and memorize it, it will help you to overcome your fears.

Most people have some kind of thing that scares them. I once was scared of Aliens, their big black eyes, and gruesome small bodies gave me the willies.

I remember one night I woke up hearing all kinds of scary noises and right away I thought about Aliens. But I remembered the scripture I had memorized; "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind", and eventually I went back to sleep.

The next time something scared me at night, I immediately began to say the verse over and over and others like it about God's amazing promises, and eventually this fear went away! I no longer fear Aliens! Why, because God is on my side, and He is on your side when you allow Him to be.

There is nothing more powerful and truthful than God's word.

He has promised us; "for he (Jesus) hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" (Hebrews 13:5).

 AVOIDING THE DARKNESS

It is very important that God's children avoid all the works of darkness "Abstain from all appearance of evil" (1 Thessalonians 5:22) Abstain means to "avoid" or "go without".

For example, if your friends want to watch a movie or play a game that you know is not pleasing to God and you decide not to take part in watching or playing it, this is to abstain from it. Remember, just because everyone else may be doing something sinful, you can decide not to, because there is always a reason God doesn't want you to be involved with anything evil. Think about it, how much more important is it to obey and please God, the creator of the whole universe, than to try to please and fit in with others who are not obeying God. Being a Christian is not always easy, but a Christian is looking ahead to eternal life, which is by far much more awesome and exciting than anything we do in this life.

The Bible also says; "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them" (Ephesians 5:11). We must remember that no one can serve God and Satan, there is no in-between. We must all make our own choice who we will serve, if you refuse to serve God, than you are serving Satan.

Memory Verse: "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind"(2 Timothy 1:7).
