Satan the Father of Lies

Satan is the Father of every lie.
"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He (the devil) was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it" (John 8:44).

Jesus was rebuking the religious leaders of his day, because they would not believe the truth, but rather chose to follow after Satan's lies. Because they did not follow Jesus, their Father was Satan. This is true of everyone that rejects the salvation that only Jesus Christ can bring.

As we have already learned, if you do not know Jesus Christ, your father is the devil and the road you are on leads to hell.

This verse also clearly tells us that there is no truth in Satan. Everything that he has anything to do with is a lie. This is why we all need to be on guard, and know some things about Satan so we will not be tricked or deceived when we come across one of his lies.

Do you know for sure who your Father is? There are only two to choose from: God or Satan.

Important point: Most of the lies that Satan comes up with are intended to keep people from accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
