 A PARENTS' GUIDE TO
SELECTING
CHILDREN'S TV PROGRAMS

... by David Benoit

The problem with writing a book dealing with children's television programs is that they run their course in popularity. After a few years they lose their marketability. Book sales may drop, but the media continues to move ahead with new programs that will further indoctrinate your children. I hope that this segment of the book will be of value to you, as a parent, for years to come.

There are seven major themes that may be harmful to your child's emotional and spiritual development. A rating system is given here for you to use.

1. Violence. This can be divided into two types:
a. Mild. Slapstick violence where bodily harm does not occur, or where there is minimal property damage.
b. Extreme. Something to cause concern for parents.

2. Evolutionist mutations. The only way evolution can explain its theory is through the mutation process which teaches that a mutation can evolve to a superior species.Evolutionists would find themselves hard pressed to give one scientific example of this process. If mutations could evolve into a superior species, why don't we find mutated things evolving today?

So humanism does what science cannot do-it creates superheroes out of mutations (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, X-Men, Fantastic Four, etc.)

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.... And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.... And God blessed them, and God said unto them. Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it... (Gen. 1:1,26,28)

Barney recently had a birthday party. The girl told Barney that she was sorry she could not put 200 million candles on the cake. Evolution is being subtly dropped on your children. (For more information on Barney, see my book entitled Fourteen Things Witches Hope Parents Never Out.)

Goddess worship. Today, feminists and witches are attacking the fact that God is a male gender. There is a new Bible on the market that refers to His/Her, or Our Mother/Father, which art in heaven. Mainline denominations are accepting Sophia as a substitute for Jesus Christ! (Examples of this are found in Captain Planet.)

4. Supernaturals.
a. Elementals.
The elementals in witchcraft are earth, wind, fire, water, and spirit (as in Captain Planet, Pocahontas, and others).
b. Sorcery, wizards, and magic. The use of supernatural power (as in Smurfs, Sorcerer's Apprentice, Care Bears, and others).
c. Spirits. Supernatural beings that are supposed to intervene on behalf of mortals (as in Ghost, Casper, Grandmother Willow in Pocahontas, Ghost Busters, Dare Devil from Fantastic 4). This last character has a red suit complete with horns and a tail, yet he represents good.
d. Power items. Such as wands, crystals, pyramids, trolls, pentagrams, etc. (Power Rangers).
e. Meditation. This is altered states of consciousness (Rafiki in The Lion King).

5. New Age doctrines.
a. Reincarnation
. Examples of reincarnation can be found in The Lion King, Casper, Pocahontas (see "New Age Terms").
b. Telepathy, or psychic powers. The ability to communicate with someone by mental powers. For example, in the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Leonardo contacts Splinter. Rafiki, in The Lion King, knew that Simba was alive. Captain Planet is another example.
c. Visualization. This has to do with bringing your thoughts into reality by way of meditation. For example, Barney is an imaginary problem-solver. New Agers would call him a spirit guide.

6. Rejection of authority. Bart Simpson, G.I. Joe, Beavis and Butthead.

7. Martial arts. This needs a little explaining. If martial arts is used for self-defense it's all right. However, many cartoons and programs use it as a means of teaching meditation, telepathy, and other occult practices. Many young people are joining martial arts classes because of Power Rangers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, only to find out it is a breeding ground for Buddhism.
