THE LARGE DEBT

Just say you owed someone a huge amount of money, but no matter how hard you worked to pay off this debt, the more time that passed, the debt just kept getting larger and larger. No amount of work or deeds that you did would allow you to have enough to ever pay off this debt to your creditor. Your creditor begins to get very angry with you, and decides to have you thrown into prison. He knew you could not pay your debt so since his life was miserable he wanted to make your life miserable also. The day came when you would have to go to prison with no chance of ever getting out. You had no money to pay your creditor because all the hard work you did was used up immediately for you to live. As you were about to get thrown into prison never expecting to see the light of day again, a stranger walks up to your debtor in the courtroom and hands your creditor the whole amount that you have owed. The judge dismisses you and your debt is paid in full. You are free to go. What a day of rejoicing that would be!

The judge has dismissed you and you have become free. This is what Jesus did for you and much much more!. “For he (God) hath made him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” 2 Corinthians 5:21

Jesus who had never committed a single sin, became sin for us, so we could be made the righteousness of God. He died for you and me so that we would not have to pass into the condemnation of hell, but instead be passed from death unto life. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” John 5:24.

JUST AS IF YOU HAD NEVER SINNED

All you have to do is repent and receive God’s free gift of forgiveness. If you have been forgiven by the blood He shed on the cross, you can have peace with God and become righteous in His sight. You will become justified. This means –just-as-if-you-had-never-sinned! Jesus took your place when He died on the bloody cross. He became a sacrifice for the forgiveness for all those who believe in Him and receive His forgiveness.

You can be forgiven only by trusting in Jesus as your Savior, the only one who can save you from an eternity in hell. Jesus said: “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out” Acts 3:19a. What does it mean to repent and believe the Gospel? It is to cast all that you are, with all of your sins at the foot of the cross of Calvary. It is to rest entirely on the grace of Jesus Christ, and that your hearts desire will be to forsake sin and ungodly living, and give your whole life up to dependence and obedience to the Lord.

REST FOR YOUR SOUL

The forgiveness of Christ is the only thing in life that will bring rest to your soul, fill the void in your heart, and bring peace to your troubled conscience. All you have to do is come to faith in Jesus’ forgiveness. Commit your soul to Him, desire to allow Him to make the appropriate changes in your life. When you ask Jesus to forgive you, He remembers your sins no more. Psalm 103:12 - As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Every iniquity has been blotted out!!!

JESUS CAN SAVE YOU FROM HELL!

After all, why not live for the one who paid your debt of hell! The only one who can save you from the everlasting destructive, unquenchable fires of hell. When you repent and believe, you will be born again. This is a life totally given over to God. Jesus Christ must become first place in your life. “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” John 3:3

What greater love is there than this? Jesus was perfect and innocent, but died for the sinner who was guilty. He provided complete forgiveness and the power to change hearts to all those who are willing to receive it.

JESUS THE OVERCOMER OF DEATH

The news even gets much better than this. This same God that came to die for our sins did not stay dead and buried – on the third day He rose from the dead. He overcame death! He lives forevermore!!! Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” John 11:25. Because He lives… you can live again!
