1). Read the Bible daily (a good place to start is in the New Testament with the Gospel of John). 2). Pray daily. 3). Find a Bible-believing church that preaches the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray that God will lead you to the right one. Fellowshipping with other believers is a very important step to growth in Christ. 4). Obey God's commandment and be baptized.
1). You will love Jesus. Living for Jesus is a life of counting the cost denying yourself and taking up His cross of calvary. Christ will become your life. Your life is no longer your life. Instead you will strive to please God, not your own fleshly desires that cannot possibly be satisfied anyway. He will become first place in you life, you will live and breathe Jesus. Your main desire in life will be to please Him in everything you do. This will ultimately bring true peace and joy and fulfillment into your life because this is what you were created to do. When a person goes astray and does not do what they were created to do, this only brings unrest, despair, frustration, unhappiness, and leaves an empty void in a person’s life. 2). You will hate sin. Since sin separates us from God the Holy Spirit will bring conviction on your heart when you are participating in sin. It will become disgusting to you. 3). You will strive to be humble. God must be first in your life and you will desire to serve others and prefer them above your own wants and desires. "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up” James 4:10. 5). You must forgive others. If you do not, your heavenly father will not forgive you. Mark 11:25-26 - And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. |
