Good Works do not get you to heaven!

"Rejection of God's grace justifying man through the shedding of blood in favor of human works to secure divine acceptance was the first "doctrine of demons" (1 Tim 4:1). This deception ushered in man's apostasy which led to the flood in Noah's day and then to the confusion of languages at the tower of Babal. By the time of Abraham the human race had lapsed into universal idoltry. God than raised up Abraham to be the representative of justification by faith (Gen 15:6, Rom 4:3-5) in the midst of a sea of paganism that had lost contact with the one true God".(1)

Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross for the forgiveness of sins. Once a person humbles himself and accepts this true gift of love and calls on the Lord Jesus Christ to save them, he becomes a child of God. Only by God's grace he has been saved. After a person is saved, he will desire to do good works because he wants to please his Lord and savior. Good works never save a person, but after a person is saved, it is necessary to do them to glorify God and further His kingdom.
