So what are these deceptions? First we must read part of Genesis 3 where this event took place. "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat" (Genesis 3:1-6)
The Five Lies that Satan told in these verses were:
1). "Yea, hath God said?" 2). "Ye shall not surely die" 3). "then your eyes shall be opened" 4). "ye shall be as gods" 5). "knowing good and evil" |

These five lies of Satan have both a physical and spiritual appeal. Which ever the person desires to believe - "COME RIGHT ON IN" - and it's yours to believe! |
Popular Christian author Tim Lahaye connects these catastrophic lies through history, he writes;
As we proceed to take a closer look at these five lies, we begin to see that the physical appeal relates to secular humanism while the spiritual appeal relates to whatever religion, cult or sect you decide to follow after that differs from Christianity or the God of the Bible. You may be thinking, isn't this narrow-minded? Scripture says "narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life" (Matt 7:14). Christianity stands on firm and solid ground while all others stand on shaky ground. Yes, many religions that differ from Christianity have truths in them but out of these same truths Satan constructs lies that deceive.
We must realize that God provided the truth alone and He certainly is not a "God of confusion". He has made the way of eternal life so simple even a child can understand it. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved" (Acts 16:31) All others teach confusion as they differ slightly from one to the other. |
Since God is our creator, we must abide by His rules alone. If we do not, chaos strikes. |
