Esoterism and Occultism |
Down through the ages the pagan mystery religions taught that hidden knowledge could be gained by seeking one's own soul or the god-within. Encounters with mystic forces (demonic) made enlightenment possible. These forces are demonic.
Bob Larson, a popular Christian author and speaker, sums up the lie of enlightenment:
"Those who explore the mystical may discover a form of enlightenment and a fleeting sense of well-being, but the darkness of their light cannot forgive sin...In truth, the enlightenment of occult mysticism is actually the darkness of the devil, who has transformed himself into 'an angel of light' ".(1) |
How does a person obtain occult enlightenment? This can be done by seeking forbidden practices that God calls abominations. These are also known as occult doorways. |
There can be no doubt that the serpent, who came to Eve, is identified everywhere (except the Bible) with the occult and is honored as embodying that mysterious force which occultists of all kinds seek to enlist in the acomplishment of their own desires. The Bible, on the other hand, indentifies the serpent with Satan and declares that those who seek his occult powers eventually find themselves entrapped as his slaves and lose their souls. (2)
