Jesus Christ, the Son of God taught more about hell than he did heaven. He loves us so much that He warned us over and over again that a place called hell does exist. Jesus does not want anyone to go to this horrible place of endless torment and everlasting fire that is never quenched. Yet each day, people go there after death because they refuse to accept God's free gift to mankind.

Jesus Christ willingly gave His life for all mankind so no one would have to go to hell. But sadly, most people have rejected His wonderful Gospel of salvation.

Let's take a look at what the Bible teaches about Hell: (Luke 16:19-31)
1). Hell is a place of consciousness -
"And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom" (Luke 16:23). Consciousness means that you will know what is going on around you.

2). Sorrows and Torment in flames - "And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night"(Revelation 14:11a).

3). Everlasting and unquenchable fire - "but he will burn up the chaff (those who do not know Jesus Christ) with unquenchable fire" (Matthew 3:12). Unquenchable fire is fire that never goes out. It burns forever!

4). A place of darkness - "And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 25:30).

5). A place of everlasting destruction and punishment - "In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power" (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9).

6). Thirst - "And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame" (Luke 16:24).

7). Hopelessness - No hope for all eternity - "they that go down into the pit (Hell) cannot hope for thy truth" (Isaiah 38:18b).

8). Torment of memory - "Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment" (Luke 16:27-28).

9). Separation from Christian loved ones - "There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out" (Luke 13:28).

10). Separation from Almighty God - "But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity" (Luke 13:27).
