In The Beginning

"In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God" (John 1:1-2)

These verses are saying that Jesus was in the beginning with God because He is God. In a way that it is hard for us to understand, God is one, but has three personalities. They are God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. And these three are one. This is called the Trinity.
